Renaissance Faire- Walla Walla 2K14

This was something different- a Renaissance Fair in Walla Walla! A new experience for me- I didn't realize how large the Minnesota Renaissance Festival was until I was in one based for a small town. I loved it, but, I really missed my (most likely tortured) camels and elephants, as well as fresh corn cobs and giant turkey legs. But, there was music, dancing, food, sellers, and people having fun!

A serious try at photojournalism...

Let's face it- Walla Walla isn't exactly a hot and happenin' news location. But, when something big happens, it is huge. A couple of weeks ago, there was a large car crash on the Whitman College Campus. Reporters for the Pioneer hopped right on it, so I decided to get my camera out and join. Although the situation was quite unfortunate (but everyone is fine, as far as I am aware), it gave me some experience working at a police scene and trying to capture a moment before it got cleared away.
Proud to say that these photos also brought in some business on my part- the photos are being used by a photographer and two insurance companies to help those who were harmed by the accident.

Swim!

I think that having a roommate who is an avid swimmer has exposed me to more swimming this year than I have my entire life. And I like it! It's a cool sport, impressive, hard to do, and makes for some pretty rad shots.

¡Trepé un árbol!

I climbed a tree! To take photos! Got in a fight with the tree, it left a few scratches, but worth it. It was sunny and I definitely creeped on the surrounding students just doing homework. Ha.
Also, excited to announce that I will be the photography editor for the Whitman Pioneer this upcoming semester! Additionally, I will be living in the Spanish interest house, La Casa!! Super pumped!
(It seems like I have my life together, but it's deceiving. I actually should be doing way more homework right now that I am. Whoops.)

The adventure, captured by Lauren.

This photo is upside down because I was hanging upside down to take it... and never bothered to rotate. My apologies.

Whitman Baseball

Been getting very into the sports photography lately! Super fun to try to catch something so fast paced in a single shot!
