Johnston Wilderness Campus

My RA staff and I went on a retreat to JWC in Oregon. It was so delightful to escape from everything for a night; out of cell phone range and no homework to work on.

I am in the middle of packing to head back to MN for a few days before leaving for my job as a photographer and ecology intern with the Grand Canyon Trust near Moab, UT. Get stoked for some awesome photos this summer!!

Liberal Arts at its Finest

For my Haiku and Nature of Japan course (through the world literature department, somehow counts for my major), we went on an adventure to where the bunchgrass grows. Mike Denny, head of Walla Walla's Audubon Society, gave us a tour of the ecological qualities of the landscape. We had also taken time to explore the bunchgrass on our own and feel out the environment- which for me meant laying in the sunshine and letting the sounds of the crickets and birds engulf my body.

Here's where we went!

Long time no see!

It's been a month since last posting any photos. Whoops. Bogged down with classes, upcoming finals, RA life, and the Whitman Pioneer (all activities that I am very happy to devote all of my time to). I got a little bit of a break and explored mountains at night with some pretty cool people!
