On the Ice
There is something utterly spectacular about standing on a frozen lake. When it is still in the process of freezing and the ice is growing, the lake emits these incredible whale-like groans. I love standing on the ice, burning bursts of wind spiraling around my entire body, and realizing that there is a full ecosystem alive and well just a foot beneath me.
On Thanksgiving, we took a quick walk onto Cedar Lake. Check it out.

Thanksgiving 2k14
Heading back west tomorrow after a short trip to MN. It was great to get a chance to spend time with the family (and the dog) before a few hectic weeks full of festivities and finals. Happy Thanksgiving, world!
